Uh-oh
It's the new word of the week, and it has a double meaning for us last week.
First of all, it was the week of accidents, spills, and tumbles. She managed to fall off the bed right onto her face and ended up with a cut lip and a gooseegg on her noggin. The next day, she sliced her finger open (deep!) on a water fountain of all things. Her first real booboo bandaid. She showed EVERYONE! During our customary walk, the next day, she fell and scraped her knee. And of course, the nanny said she was falling all day when I was at work. This got me thinking. Cranky AND clumsy? Not Kira! Luckily, we already had an appointment to see Dr. Harmon on Friday. It was really for repeat blood work, but of course, she had an ear infection. This explains the lack of balance AND the poor mood. We are much better now!
Oh, but back to the "uh-oh." Daddy taught it to her yesterday. After all the spills, we needed it last week. She picked it up right away...and now it's "uh-oh" all day long. She will drop something just to say "uh-oh."
So, here's a list of what she can say now:
doggie
daddy
hi
buh-bye
goo-bye
ga-go (all gone)
di (down)
jus (juice)
cooookay (cookie)
uh-oh
bah (ball)
cat
eee-ow (meow)
mamee (mommy)-we don't hear much of this, usually I'm daddy, too!
ba-bee (baby)
was-tis (what's this?)
this (means this or that)
whoa (wow)
quack-quack (duck)
tight (light)
I am sure there are more that I'm not thinking of, so I'll add as I think of them!
We also know the sign language for:
more
all done
milk
shoes
hat
down
up
