an update...

Out of the past 5 nights, Kira has slept all night in her own bed 3 of those nights. I thought I had jinxed the good luck for sure when she came to my bed 2 nights in a row again, but last night she slept all night in her bed again. I suppose it will take a while to be consistant, and I am thankful that she is at least trying to stay in her room all night long!

Smile and Say "Chip"

Kira found my camera the other day and went all around the house "taking pictures." She would hold it up to her eye and say "say ship." For a few minutes, I couldn't figure out what she was saying...or rather, what she meant. Then I got it...she was trying to say "say CHIP." Guess she had her foods a little mixed up! She loves chips and she loves cheese, but not quite sure how to use the words in this form! LOL!

Could it be?

I am almost afraid to type it since it may backfire on me tonight...but Kira has slept the WHOLE NIGHT in her bed for TWO nights in a row! And I mean the WHOLE NIGHT...from 9pm to 8am! I was so worried that she would feel like she was being replaced if I tried too hard to move her. My theory is that she was tired of being woken up by Baby Alayna, though. She was up every 2-3 hours with us the first 2 nights home. Never fussed, but would lay there with her eyes open until Alayna finished eating. I imagine that was not very restful for her. So, maybe she decided that sleep was more important than being in our room...
She still comes to bed to get me in the morning and we still get our snuggle time for a good 30 minutes before we get up for breakfast, so if this keeps up it is perfect!

Big Sister Kira

Kira doesn't seem to bothered by the new baby...yet! She came running up to me in the hospital and grabbed onto both ears tightly, but then got right down and started running haywire around the room. She likes to peek at the baby and play with her swing and bouncy seat when she is in them. She also loves to sit right by mommy when I am feeding Alayna and rub her soft head. She doesn't interrupt us, but either watches TV or sometimes brings a book for us to read. Most other times, she doesn't even seem to notice that Alayna is here! She gets a little worried about her when she cries, but otherwise just seems to go right on with her little toddler life!
