Sweetly Sleeping
Sometimes I wonder how such a beautiful, innocent being came from me. But, this whole week was definitely one of the more challenging. Not that I have any reason to complain, as she is normally the angel baby that all the textbooks talk about and all the parents wish there children were. Sometimes, though, her halo gets a little crooked up top.
It's not that she turned into the devil overnight, but her normal routine has been upset by some unknown force. Everyone keeps telling me that it means some big developmental milestone is on its way...like she might just take off and run like a toddler at any minute now. But, I will have to admit that this week, in the midst of the sleepless nights and napless days, she has started to sit on her own. Yes, she can find that balance spot in the middle of that little round rear-end of hers and actually stay there for 3 minutes. A mother's pride. Three WHOLE minutes (and you thought I had better things to do than watch the timer while my baby sat in the middle of a blanket surrounded by toys that she couldn't quite reach). Not only that, but she has discovered that if she pushes that round rear-end of hers up in the air, she can actually rock back and forth on her hands and knees. Maybe she'll crawl after all.
Ah, yes, after the days of being awake nearly around the clock, she is now tucked into our bed...sweetly sleeping with her daddy at her side. And where am I? Finding some quiet time in the midst of it all.
